Hands-on,
but data-led

Carly Christensen has been a physiotherapist for more than 20 years, more than 10 of them with complex neurological injuries, and has treated more than 1,000 people. She holds 2 master's degrees: an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University and an MSc in Advanced Performance Science, focused on applied performance testing.

She worked trackside as team physiotherapist with Cadillac Hertz Team Jota at the Qatar round of the 2025 World Endurance Championship, after the 8 Hours of Bahrain in 2024, and as performance physiotherapist to England Women's Roller Derby at the 2025 World Cup in Innsbruck.

Every session is 60 minutes, costs £150 and follows the same 4 stages: assess, plan, build and return. She sees clients by appointment at 3 UNTIL clubs, in Marylebone, Canary Wharf and Soho. "My approach is hands-on but data-led: we measure, we train with intent, and we track progress so you can see it."

Motorsport performance

Neck and trunk

Neck and cervical load, lap after lap

Motorsport asks specific things of the athlete behind the wheel, and training for it looks different from general gym work. Sustained lateral G loads the neck lap after lap. Targeted cervical and trunk strength is the foundation of driver conditioning.

Steering and braking demand endurance in the hands and forearms: trainable, and often overlooked.

Heat and fatigue

Holding performance deep into a stint

Cockpits run hot and heart rate stays high. Conditioning keeps decisions sharp deep into a stint.

Consistency at the end of a race is physical. Box Box trains the body to hold performance when it is tired, and measures it, so you can see the difference in the numbers as well as on the stopwatch.

Who it's for

Built for motorsport, open to anyone serious about moving well

Young professional driver-athletes who need physiotherapy and performance coaching in one place. Club and amateur racers, karting drivers, track-day drivers and sim racers. Weekend athletes. People coming back after injury or an operation. If you take your sport seriously, the approach is the same: assess, plan, build, return. The aim is always the same: back to everyday activities, social life, work and sport, pain-free and stronger.

Carly has worked trackside in the World Endurance Championship and courtside with England Women’s Roller Derby at the 2025 World Cup.

What is Box Box Physiotherapy and Performance?

Box Box is Carly Christensen’s physiotherapy and performance practice in central London. She helps drivers and athletes recover from injury and then get genuinely stronger, with sessions by appointment at UNTIL Marylebone, Canary Wharf and Soho. The name comes from the team radio call that brings a car into the pits.

How much does a session with Box Box cost?

Every session with Carly is one hour and costs £150, whether it is an assessment, treatment, rehab or performance work. Your first session is a full assessment, so you leave with a working diagnosis, the first steps of a plan and a clear idea of how progress will be measured.

Do I need a GP referral to book with Box Box?

No. Physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners in the UK, so if you are paying yourself you can book with Carly directly by phone or email. If you are claiming on private medical insurance, check your policy first, because some insurers ask for a GP referral before they will pay.

Is Box Box only for racing drivers?

No. Box Box is built for motorsport and open to anyone serious about moving and performing well: club and amateur racers, karting and sim racing, track-day drivers, weekend athletes, and anyone recovering from injury or surgery. The approach is the same for everyone: assess, plan, build, return.

Where does Carly see clients?

Carly sees Box Box clients by appointment at three UNTIL clubs in central London: Marylebone at 1 Orchard Street, Canary Wharf at 30 South Colonnade, and Soho at 111 Charing Cross Road. The services and the price are the same at all three, so choose whichever fits your week best.

When should I see a doctor instead of a physio?

Call 999 or go to A&E for back pain with numbness around your bottom or genitals, loss of bladder or bowel control, or weakness in both legs, and after any significant crash or fall. See your GP for pain with fever or unexplained weight loss. Carly will also refer you on whenever physiotherapy is not the right first step.

you are.
