What happens at your first assessment?

Your first session is a full hour with Carly. She takes your history, asks what you need to get back to, then screens how you move, how strong you are and what the problem area is doing under load.

You leave with a working diagnosis in plain English, the first steps of your plan, and a clear idea of how progress will be measured.

Physiotherapy can help you to:

Find out what is causing the pain

Carly takes a full history and examines how you move and load before any treatment starts. You leave the first session with a working diagnosis explained in plain English.

Settle the pain so you can keep moving

Hands-on treatment such as joint mobilisation and soft-tissue work can ease a sore, guarded phase. It is used to help you move and load again, alongside exercise.

Rebuild the strength you have lost

Progressive exercise rebuilds the capacity an injury or a long spell of pain has taken away. The load goes up in stages as your body shows it is ready.

Get back to training and sport

Your plan is built around what you want to return to, from a gym programme to a race weekend. Progress is measured against your own baseline at each visit.

Manage it yourself between sessions

You learn what aggravates the problem and what helps it, so you stay in control at home and can spot the early signs if it starts to return.

A clear path from first assessment to being back at full output, measured, not guessed. Every session is one hour with Carly, at UNTIL Marylebone, Canary Wharf or Soho.

Assess

Physical screening and performance testing to find what is limiting you. Carly takes a full history, examines how you move and load, and measures where it matters, so the plan starts from numbers rather than guesswork.

Plan

A programme built around your goals, your sport and your calendar. You leave knowing what is driving the problem, what you are going to do about it, and how progress will be measured from one session to the next.

Build

Coached sessions and progressive loading, adjusted as you improve. Strength, control and conditioning are built in stages, with the load moved on only when the last stage has been earned.

Return

Back to sport and racing, with objective measures to prove it. The decision to return rests on retesting against your own baseline, so you go back with evidence rather than a feeling.

Physiotherapy questions

Do I need a GP referral to see Carly?

No. Physiotherapists in the UK are first-contact practitioners, so you can contact Box Box and book an assessment directly. If anything in your history or examination suggests you need to see a doctor first, Carly will tell you plainly and explain where to go before any treatment starts.

How much does physiotherapy at Box Box cost?

A physiotherapy session with Carly costs £150 for 60 minutes. That hour covers assessment, hands-on treatment where it helps, and the exercises you take away. You pay per session, and you can book by calling 07719 662005 or by sending an email through the contact page.

Where does Box Box see patients?

Carly sees patients by appointment at three UNTIL clubs in central London: UNTIL Marylebone at 1 Orchard Street W1H 6HJ, UNTIL Canary Wharf at 30 South Colonnade E14 5HX, and UNTIL Soho at 111 Charing Cross Road WC2H 0DT. There are no fixed opening hours, so get in touch to arrange a time.

What happens at my first physiotherapy session?

Carly takes your history, asks what you need to get back to, then examines how you move, how strong you are and how the painful area behaves under load. You leave with a working diagnosis in plain English, the first steps of your plan and some treatment where it is appropriate.

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

It depends on the problem, how long you have had it and what you want to get back to. Carly gives you an honest estimate at the first session and reviews it as you go, measuring progress against your own baseline so you can both see whether the plan is working.
