Meet Carly Christensen
Hi, I'm Carly. I'm a physiotherapist who works where clinical rehab meets performance science. I set up Box Box to give drivers and athletes one place to recover from injury and then get genuinely stronger, not just back to baseline.
Meet Carly
Carly Christensen has worked as a physiotherapist for more than 20 years. She started in private neurological rehabilitation hospitals, spent more than 10 years with complex neurological injuries, then moved into premium community-based rehabilitation in London. Over that time she has treated more than 1,000 people, from working professionals to elite athletes. Rehabilitation is where her habit of measuring everything comes from: progress you cannot see is progress nobody trusts.
Netflix’s Drive to Survive got her hooked on motorsport, and she moved deliberately towards sport and performance. She completed an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University, then an MSc in Advanced Performance Science focused on applied performance testing, alongside a motorsport internship with Pioneered Athlete Performance (PAP). Then she took that work trackside and courtside.
"My approach is hands-on but data-led: we measure, we train with intent, and we track progress so you can see it."
The words clients use for her are determined, motivated, compassionate and driven. The numbers matter, but so does the person behind them.
Our story: why Box Box
"Box, box" is the radio call that brings a car into the pits. A pit stop is short, planned and measured, and the car goes back out in better shape than it came in. That is the idea behind the name: one place where drivers and athletes come in injured or flat, get assessed properly, and leave with a plan that makes them stronger.
Carly has worked as team physiotherapist with Cadillac Hertz Team Jota at the Qatar round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, trackside with the team at the 8 Hours of Bahrain in 2024, and as performance physiotherapist to England Women’s Roller Derby at the 2025 World Cup in Innsbruck. Those environments are unforgiving: a problem has to be understood quickly, and the person still has to perform.
Box Box brings that approach to everyone who takes their sport seriously, from club racers and karting drivers to sim racers, weekend athletes and people coming back from surgery.
Our method
A clear path from first assessment to being back at full output, measured, not guessed. It runs in four stages.
Assess. Physical screening and performance testing to find what is limiting you.
Plan. A programme built around your goals, your sport and your calendar.
Build. Coached sessions and progressive loading, adjusted as you improve.
Return. Back to sport and racing, with objective measures to prove it.
Carly is also a Hintsa Certified Coach: she is certified in a method developed by Hintsa Performance, which has been used in elite sport, including Formula 1, and in business for decades. It looks at performance as a whole, from sleep and recovery to nutrition and physical activity, which is why a Box Box plan asks about your week as well as your injury.
Credentials and clinical standards
Physiotherapist is a protected title in the UK: anyone using it must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which sets the standards of conduct, performance and ethics that Carly practises under. You can check any physiotherapist on the HCPC register by name.
Carly is a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP), a professional network of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. She holds a BSc (Hons) and a PGCert, an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University, and an MSc in Advanced Performance Science.
In practice, clinical standards mean a proper assessment before treatment, consent explained in plain English, notes kept securely, and a straight answer when a problem needs a doctor, a scan or a surgeon rather than physiotherapy. Common questions about sessions, prices and booking are answered on the FAQs page.
