What happens at your first assessment?

Your first session is a full hour with Carly. She takes your history, asks what you need to get back to, then screens how you move, how strong you are and what the problem area is doing under load.

You leave with a working diagnosis in plain English, the first steps of your plan, and a clear idea of how progress will be measured.

Performance testing and assessment can help you to:

Find out what is holding you back

Physical screening and performance testing to find what's limiting you, whether that is strength, range, endurance or control on one side.

Train with a clear starting point

Your results set the baseline for your programme, so training targets the gaps the testing found.

See whether your training is working

Retesting the same measures over time shows what has changed. You can see your progress in numbers.

Decide when you are ready to return

After injury or surgery, testing against your own baseline or your other side gives evidence for the return decision.

Assess

Physical screening and performance testing to find what is limiting you. Carly takes a full history, examines how you move and load, and measures where it matters, so the plan starts from numbers rather than guesswork.

Plan

A programme built around your goals, your sport and your calendar. You leave knowing what is driving the problem, what you are going to do about it, and how progress will be measured from one session to the next.

Build

Coached sessions and progressive loading, adjusted as you improve. Strength, control and conditioning are built in stages, with the load moved on only when the last stage has been earned.

Return

Back to sport and racing, with objective measures to prove it. The decision to return rests on retesting against your own baseline, so you go back with evidence rather than a feeling.

Performance testing and assessment questions

What does a Box Box performance assessment involve?

Carly takes a history of your sport, training and injuries, then screens how you move and measures strength, range and endurance where they matter for you. Sides are compared where that helps. You leave with the results explained in plain English and a clear list of what to work on first.

How much does performance testing with Carly cost?

Performance testing with Carly costs £150 for a 60-minute session. That hour covers the history, the screen and testing, and an explanation of your results with next steps. You pay per session, and you can book by calling 07719 662005 or by sending an email through the contact page.

Where does Box Box run performance testing?

Testing runs by appointment at three UNTIL clubs in central London: UNTIL Marylebone at 1 Orchard Street W1H 6HJ, UNTIL Canary Wharf at 30 South Colonnade E14 5HX, and UNTIL Soho at 111 Charing Cross Road WC2H 0DT. There are no fixed hours, so contact Carly to arrange a time.

How often should I be retested?

It depends on your goals and your calendar. Retesting usually makes sense at the end of a training block, before a season or event, or at key stages of a return from injury. Carly agrees a retest point with you at Box Box, so progress is checked against your own baseline.

Do I need to be injured to book a performance assessment?

No. You can book with Box Box simply to find out what is limiting your performance before a season. Testing is also used after injury or surgery to judge readiness to return, so it suits anyone who wants objective measures to guide training rather than a guess.
