Assess
Physical screening and performance testing to find what is limiting you. Carly takes a full history, examines how you move and load, and measures where it matters, so the plan starts from numbers rather than guesswork.
Physiotherapy for tennis elbow, wrist pain and hand problems, from desk work and the gym to steering and braking, with forearm and grip strength rebuilt so the pain stays away.
Overview
The elbow, wrist and hand work together every time you grip, type, lift or steer. Pain here often comes from overloading the forearm tendons, as in tennis elbow on the outside of the elbow or golfer’s elbow on the inside. Wrist pain can follow a fall onto an outstretched hand, or build up from repeated gripping and weight-bearing through the wrists.
Carpal tunnel syndrome causes tingling, numbness or pain in the thumb and fingers, often worse at night, when a nerve at the wrist is squeezed. Pain or tingling in the hand can also come from the neck, so Carly checks there too.
Most of these problems respond well to adjusting load and building forearm and grip strength step by step. Treatment runs through physiotherapy and sports injury rehab. For drivers, motorsport athlete performance builds the grip and forearm endurance that steering and braking demand.
Progressive loading of the forearm tendons, with practical changes to how you grip and lift, so carrying a bag or a kettle stops being a problem.
Changes to your set-up and work pattern, plus simple exercises for the wrist, forearm and neck, so long days at the keyboard are easier.
Grip and forearm endurance work for drivers, climbers and lifters, built up in stages and measured, so your hands last as long as the session does.
Once any fracture has been ruled out or has healed, movement and strength are rebuilt so you can push up, take weight and grip with confidence.
Why it happens
Repeated gripping, lifting or twisting that overloads the forearm tendons, as in tennis elbow
Long hours of typing, mouse use or phone use without breaks
A fall onto an outstretched hand, common in skating, cycling and contact sport
Steering and braking effort over long sessions, which demands grip and forearm endurance
Pressure on the median nerve at the wrist, which causes carpal tunnel symptoms
A sudden increase in gym work such as pull-ups, push-ups or heavy carries
Your first session is a full hour with Carly. She takes your history, asks what you need to get back to, then screens how you move, how strong you are and what the problem area is doing under load.
You leave with a working diagnosis in plain English, the first steps of your plan, and a clear idea of how progress will be measured.
Sessions are £150 per hour, by appointment at UNTIL Marylebone, Canary Wharf or Soho. You can refer yourself; no GP letter is needed.
A clear path from first assessment to being back at full output, measured, not guessed. Every session is one hour with Carly, at UNTIL Marylebone, Canary Wharf or Soho.

A programme built around your goals, your sport and your calendar. You leave knowing what is driving the problem, what you are going to do about it, and how progress will be measured from one session to the next.
Coached sessions and progressive loading, adjusted as you improve. Strength, control and conditioning are built in stages, with the load moved on only when the last stage has been earned.
Back to sport and racing, with objective measures to prove it. The decision to return rests on retesting against your own baseline, so you go back with evidence rather than a feeling.
Treatment approach
Assessment separates tendon, joint and nerve causes, including symptoms coming from the neck, then hands-on treatment and exercise ease pain and restore movement.

Tennis elbow can take several months to settle, and sometimes longer. The NHS advises it usually gets better on its own, and that physiotherapy exercises can help. At Box Box, Carly adjusts how you load the arm and builds forearm strength in stages to help it settle.
Go to an urgent treatment centre or A&E after a fall or injury if the pain is severe, you heard a snap or crack, the wrist or hand has changed shape, it is very swollen, or the hand or fingers feel numb, tingly or cold. A fracture needs checking first.
Yes. An irritated nerve root in the neck can cause pain, pins and needles or numbness in the arm and hand. Carpal tunnel syndrome at the wrist can feel similar. Carly examines the neck, elbow and wrist so treatment targets the right place.
Long sessions of steering and braking ask a lot of the hands and forearms, and endurance there is trainable and often overlooked. Carly assesses your grip, wrist position and set-up, then builds forearm and grip endurance so the ache arrives later or not at all.
